Herb originally joined Macchi Engineers in 1997 as a Design Engineer and worked on a variety of civil / site development projects for bridge and roadway design, healthcare and educational facilities. He now has more than 26 years of diversified engineering experience in all phases of planning, design and construction administration for a diversified range of civil / site development projects including commercial, industrial, residential and educational facilities. Herb’s project assignments range from Project Manager to Chief Civil Engineer to Construction Inspector. His expertise includes site work involving hydrology and hydraulics, storm drainage, detention basin design and flood control, erosion control, wetland mitigation, utility coordination, scour analysis and environmental permitting. He has extensive experience in highway and local roadway design, grading, access drive and parking system layout, M.T.P. design, design of permanent local and highway signing, public presentations and hearings, and construction administration.

Mr. May is extremely familiar with the policy and procedures at the State, Municipal and the Local levels. Similarly with obtaining STC approvals, Town Planning and Zoning approvals, as well as Army Corps of Engineers Approvals.
