West Middle School

Project Hightlights:

Hartford, CT – Structural design, construction administration and construction inspection for major renovations and additions of an existing elementary school totaling 108,000 sq. ft. The new 4-story, steel-framed addition is approx. 70,000 sq. ft. and connects the three existing buildings at multiple floors. Difficult soil conditions required the design and installation of a deep foundation system comprised of Rammed Aggregate Piers (Geopiers). The school is the first in the City of Hartford to have a playground on its rooftop due to extensive site restraints. The project was delivered with Building Information Modeling (BIM) using Revit Software.
