Lake Forest Dam and Eel Passage

Project Hightlights:

The project consisted of a complete engineering study to document the current condition of the dam and determine the repairs to bring the dam up to current DEEP requirements. A thorough field investigation, aerial topographic survey including aerial photos, ground control and 40 scale mapping with 2’ contours was performed, as well as a geotechnical evaluation, an environmental assessment and a complete hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and preparation of the Emergency Action Plan. An additional feature of the project included the design of an eel passage that is 200′ long by 5′ wide constructed of natural stone in the low flow area of the spillway channel.
