Project Hightlights:

Hartford, CT – The new Boys & Girls Club serves 1,500 youth and various programs in the south end city. The facility consists of a teen center, tech center, game room, performing arts and fine arts/crafts room, a field house and a full sized basketball court, tv/recording studio, kitchen/cafe, storage room, locker rooms, administrative and a lobby area that can also accommodate gatherings and other formal functions. Macchi Engineers provided the structural design services for construction of a new 26,000 square foot, multi-level, steel-framed structure supported on shallow spread footings. Difficult soil conditions required the installation of rammed agate piers to stabilize the sub soils for foundation support.
